Ava Michael and men's ice hockey first-year

Ava Michael accounted for all six of Alvernia's goals scored in a 2-0 week for the Golden Wolves. In a 4-0 win over Albright on Wednesday, Michael scored four goals in three quarters to lead Alvernia to the 4-0 lead. In a 2-0 double-overtime win at Hood on Saturday, Michael scored the equalizer for Alvernia in the 50th minute after Alvernia trailed 1-0. She then scored the game-winner on a penalty stroke in the fifth minute of the second overtime period to lead Alvernia to the season-finale 2-1 win.
Jeff Kreidler picked up two wins in goal for Alvernia, picking up two wins in his collegiate debut weekend. Kreidler finished the weekend with 78 saves, allowing two goals. In a 4-0 shutout over SUNY Morrisville on Friday night, Kreidler made 30 saves for the Golden Wolves. In a 3-2 win over SUNY Cortland, who is receiving votes, Kreidler made 48 saves for Alvernia - including a 15 save third period to help Alvernia secure the 3-2 win.
Field Hockey's season wrapped-up over the weekend. Men's Ice Hockey is back in action on Friday for both their home and MAC opener against Stevenson University.Â
