Football Heads Back on the Road to Take on Dutchmen

Reading, Pa. (Nov. 7, 2025) - Alvernia Football will hit the road tomorrow to take on Lebanon Valley College for game nine of the 2025 season. 

Lebanon Valley leads the series against Alvernia, 6-0. The Dutchmen are 3-0 in Annville, with Lebanon Valley edging out Alvernia in the last meeting at Lebanon Valley, 34-26. The 2023 meeting was a close battle between the two teams. The game was tied at 20-20 going into the half, and the game was within one, 27-26, in favor of the Dutchmen in the final stretch. But, a Dutchmen touchdown with two minutes to play made it an eight point game, 34-26. Alvernia ran out of time on its attempt to answer for the 34-26 final. The 2024 matchup at Alvernia was also a close contest, with Lebanon Valley leading 6-0 at the half. But, a 17-point performance by the Dutchmen in the second half led them to a 23-10 win.

Alvernia enters Saturday looking to get into the win column. The Golden Wolves are coming off a 43-10 loss to Delaware Valley at home last weekend. Alvernia is averaging 11.5 points per game and 253.4 yards per game. Defensively, Alvernia is allowing 38.25 yards per game and gives up 414 yards per game. Alvernia's opponents are averaging 219.4 yards per game on the ground and 194.6 yards in the air per game. 

JJ Gonzalez enters Saturday with a 56% completion percentage in six games played. He is averaging 57.8 passing yards per game. Andrew Simmons enters Saturday as Alvernia's leading rusher with 200 yards on the season in seven games played. He averages just over five yards per touch and had a season-high 71 yards last week. Alvernia's defense is led by McCabe Piavis with 63 tackles on the year. Piavis also has one interception and a forced fumble. Kashantis Anderson has a team-high five pass break-ups and also has an interception.

Lebanon Valley enters Saturday with a 4-4 record overall and a 4-3 record in MAC play. The Dutchmen are coming off a 15-13 loss to Stevenson and are looking to avoid their third straight loss. The Dutchmen are averaging 23.88 yards per game and average 340.5 yards per game. The Dutchmen average 176.5 rushing yards per game and 164 passing yards per game. Defensively, the Dutchmen allow 19.5 points per game and hold opponents to 318.3 yards per game. They give up 171 yards passing and 147.3 yards rushing per game.

Lebanon Valley's offense is led by quarterback Logan Klitsch. He has 100 completions on the year for a total of 1,177 yards and eight touchdowns. Klitsch is also the second-leading rusher for the Dutchmen, averaging 49 yards per game with 392 yards on the season and four touchdowns. Lebanon Valley's leading rusher is Dion Bryant with 682 yards, six touchdowns, and 85.25 yards per game. Defensively Carter Foust leads Lebanon Valley with 47 tackles, four interceptions, and one forced fumble. Luke Ordway leads the defensive line with five tackles for a loss and two sacks.
