Reber Leads Golden Wolves at Racich Rumble

Collegeville, Pa. (November 8, 2025) - Owen Reber recorded a first place finish in the 285 pound bracket to lead Alvernia University to a fourth place finish at the Racich Rumble Saturday at Ursinus. 

The Golden Wolves finished fourth of 13 team total and recorded 96 total team points. 

How it Happened 
  • Owen Reber led the way for the Golden Wolves with a first place finish at 285 pounds and started his day with a fall over Micah Gillespie in 3:18 before recording a 9-0 major decision over Messiah's Kaleb Britting. Reber then tallied a 6-0 decision over Sam Rock III from Ursinus to punch his ticket to the title bout. Reber then took down Nathan Faxon from NYU in the final by decision, 3-1, to secure first place honors. 
  • Chance Babb tallied a second place finish in the 157 pound bracket on Saturday and started his day with a fall in 2:46 over Michael O'Connor and then a 17-2 tech fall over Joseph Martini III from Ursinus. Babb then recorded a 17-3 major decision over Rex Jacobs from NYU before adding another major decision over Paul Lichter, 10-1, in the semifinals to advance to the title match. Babb then fell to Clay Galner from Messiah in the 157 pound final by decision, 10-3, to take second place. 
  • Tristan Cooper followed with a third place finish in the 285 pound bracket for the Golden Wolves. Cooper dropped his first match of the day to Sam Rock III, 6-2, before bouncing back with back to back pins over Garrett Gayle and Chris Broderick. Cooper then recorded a 12-1 major decision over Messiah's Elijah Farr and a 6-2 decision over Noah Berlin-Langston to advance to the consi-semifinals. Cooper then received a medical forfeit in the consi-semis before receiving another forfeit in the third place match to earn third place honors. 
  • Hayden McLellan posted a fourth place finish in the 184 pound bracket for the Golden Wolves and started his day with a fall in 1:29 over Kristian Koroveshi before posting a 18-2 tech fall over Robbie Anderson to advance to the quarterfinals. McLellan then dropped the quarterfinal match to Joe Tully, 5-1, but bounced back with back to back pins to advance to the consi-semis. McLellan posted another pin over Dmitry Derbedyenyev in 1:11 to advance to the third place match but he then had to post a no contest in the third place match due to hitting his match limit in a day and took fourth in the 184 pound bracket. 
  • Rocco Monteferrante rounded out the place finishers for the Golden Wolves and recorded a sixth place finish in the 125 pound bracket. Monteferrante started his day with a 12-7 victory over Jaydin Barreto by major decision but then fell to NYU's Xavier Diaz by tech fall, 15-0. Monteferrante then posted a 3-0 decision before receiving a forfeit to advance to the consi-semifinal. Monteferrante then dropped his final two matches of the day to finish in sixth place.
