Four Golden Wolves Net Goals as Alvernia Shuts Out Stevenson, 4-0

Stevenson, Md. (Nov. 8, 2025) - Alvernia University (3-1, 2-0) secured the weekend sweep of Stevenson University (0-4, 0-2) with a 4-0 win on Saturday afternoon in MAC Women's Ice Hockey action at Stevenson.

Alvernia jumped out to a 1-0 lead midway through the first period and made it a 2-0 game midway through the second. Alvernia then added two more in the third for the 4-0 final. The Golden Wolves utilized four different goal-scorers en route to the win. 

How it Happened
  • After an opening six minutes that saw just two shots exchanged, Alvernia went on power-play 6:21 into the contest. The Golden Wolves pressured with four shots on goal during the power-play, plus another three blocked, but could not convert.
  • After things slowed down again after the power-play, Laila Tosi put Alvernia on the board with a goal off the assist of Josalyn Artrip with eight minutes to play in the quarter.
  • The Mustangs had a 5v3 opportunity to close out the period, made five saves late to keep the Mustangs off the board and maintain the 1-0 lead for the Golden Wolves heading into the second period.
  • The Mustangs pressed early in the second period until a penalty slowed them down as Alvernia went back on the power-play. But, Golden Wolves were held to just one shot on goal during the power-play.
  • As the game moved into the latter half of the second period, Alvernia sent in two shots on net that were stopped by the Mustangs, but its third straight shot found its way through as Emma Hart scored the unassisted goal to give the Golden Wolves a 2-0 lead.
  • Alvernia had a 5v3 opportunity of its own to close out the second period. The Golden Wolves peppered the Mustangs, but Stevenson made the stops to stay within two going into the third period.
  • Alvernia needed just 19 seconds of third period action to take a 3-0 lead as Moa Lagh cleaned up her own rebound to make it a 3-0 game. 
  • The Golden Wolves went on their fifth power-play opportunity of the game ten minutes into the third period, but it wasn't until 30 seconds after the power-play expired that Alvernia made it a 4-0 game as Erin Schutt netted her second of the season with seven minutes to play. 
  • Alvernia held off the Mustangs the rest of the way to secure the 4-0 win and its first shutout win over Stevenson since December of 2023.
