Golden Wolves Fall to Mustangs, 9-4

Reisterstown, Md. (February 14, 2025) - Alvernia University (10-11-2, 8-9-2) dropped a MAC men's ice hockey matchup to Stevenson University (14-7-2, 11-6-2) 9-4, Friday afternoon at Reisterstown Sportsplex. 

The Mustangs recorded a five goal second period en route to the 9-4 victory over the Golden Wolves. 

How it Happened 
  • Stevenson opened up the scoring early in the first period after Kyle Lightfood assisted Dylan Florit in the first two minutes of the game to give Stevenson a 1-0 lead. 
  • The Golden Wolves tied the game up two minutes later when Sawyer Senio found the back of the net thanks to assists from Vincent Servizzi and Patrick Del Vecchio to make it a 1-1 game after just four minutes of play. 
  • The Mustangs tallied two goals in the final eight minutes of the first period to give Stevenson a two goal, 3-1 lead heading into the first intermission. 
  • Stevenson pushed the lead to 4-1 in the first three minutes of the second period when Aidan McDowell found the back of the net on a power play to give the Mustangs a three goal lead. 
  • Alvernia responded with a goal two minutes later after Del Vecchio and Lucas Ochitwa assisted Servizzi to make it 4-2 Stevenson with 15 minutes to go in the second period. 
  • The Mustangs then netted four goals in the final 12 minutes of the second period to take a 8-2 lead into the final period. 
  • The Golden Wolves found the back of the net three minutes into the third period when Easton Inglis scored after assists from Edvin Robertsson and Ochitwa to make it 8-3. 
  • Stevenson recorded its final goal of the game with under 15 minutes to go in the period which made it a 9-3 game. 
  • Del Vecchio tallied the final goal for Alvernia in the final two minutes of the game after an Owen Noll assist but Stevenson secured the 9-4 victory.
