Reading, Pa (February 15, 2025) - Wilkes University (19-4-1, 17-2-1) scored two goals in all three periods en route to a 6-3 victory over Alvernia University (13-9-2, 9-9-2) Saturday night in a MAC women's ice hockey matchup at BodyZone. 

How it Happened

• Addy Gularte got the scoring going in the first three minutes of the first period after she netted an unassisted goal to give the Golden Wolves a 1-0 lead early in the first period. 
• The Colonels then netted two goals in the final five minutes of the first period to take a 2-1 lead into the first intermission. 
• Wilkes pushed the lead to three, 3-1 after Ainsley Wescott found the back of the net with just under 12 minutes to go in the period. 
• The Colonels then netted their second goal of the period in the final minute of the second period to take a three goal, 4-1 lead into the final intermission. 
• Wilkes pushed it to a 5-1 lead after netting a power play goal in the first three minutes of the third period. 
• The Golden Wolves grabbed one back with 11 minutes to go in the third period when Gularte netted her second goal of the night to make it a 5-2 game. 
• Wilkes responded under two minutes later after a Haylee Bouchard goal made it a four goal, 6-2 game. 
• Alvernia responded with a goal eight seconds later when Julia Franklin and Kathryn Palmer assisted Sydney Bradley but it was not enough as Wilkes took the 6-3 victory.
