Wilkes-Barre, Pa (March 1, 2025) - Alvernia University (11-13-2) fell to Wilkes University (17-7-2) 6-0, Saturday night in an inaugural MAC men's ice hockey semifinal matchup at Wilkes' Toyota SportsPlex. 

Wilkes netted two goals in all three periods en route to the victory. 

How it Happened 

• Wilkes opened the scoring nine minutes into the game when Cam Lowe found the back of the net to give the Colonels an early 1-0 lead. 
• Wilkes doubled its lead in the final five minutes of the first period after Matt Carlson put the puck into the goal to give Wilkes a 2-0 lead after the first 20 minutes. 
• The Colonels tallied two more goals in the final six minutes of the second period and netted both goals within 11 seconds of each other to take a 4-0 lead into the final intermission. 
• Wilkes recorded two more insurance goals in the third period to secure the 6-0 victory over the Golden Wolves. 

Inside the Box Score

• Brock Mueller recorded a team high five shots on goal for the Golden Wolves. 
• Patrick Del Vecchio followed with four shots on goal and also won five faceoffs. 
• Justin Pare and Matthew Imbriano both recorded two blocked shots and Easton Inglis recorded a team high 11 faceoff wins. 
• Jacob Stern recorded 29 saves in net for Alvernia. 

The loss concludes Alvernia's season and marks the second straight season they have advanced to a conference semifinal in its first three years as a NCAA program.
