Golden Wolves Sweep Cadets, Lutz Records 1,000th Career Win

Fort Pierce, FL, (March 2, 2025) - Alvernia University (4-2) tallied two wins over Norwich University (2-2) Sunday afternoon in a non-conference baseball doubleheader in Fort Pierce, FL.

The Golden Wolves took down the Cadets 14-2 in the first game and then recorded a 7-4 victory in game two of the double header to secure the series sweep.

Alvernia head baseball coach Yogi Lutz recorded his 1,000th career victory with the 14-2 win in game one of the doubleheader with Norwich. Lutz becomes the 14th NCAA DIII baseball coach to eclipse 1,000 career wins and is just the 4th active NCAA DIII coach to have 1,000 career victories.

Lutz joins Johns Hopkins' Bob Babb (1,307-478-16), Methodist's Tom Austin (1,291-621-10) and Carthage's Augie Schmidt IV (1,006-553-5) as the only active NCAA DIII baseball coaches with 1,000 or more career wins.
