Lancaster, Pa (September 17, 2025) - Alvernia University (2-4) dropped a hard fought non-conference field hockey matchup to #14 Franklin and Marshall (6-0), 2-0, Wednesday night at F&M's Tylus Field. 

The Diplomats netted both goals in the first half and that was enough as they held the Golden Wolves scoreless en route to the victory. 

How it Happened 

• F&M opened up the scoring ten minutes into the contest after Hannah Fitzgerald assisted Megan Dadio to put the Diplomats up 1-0 after the first 15 minutes of action. 
• The Diplomats then made it a 2-0 game with just under five minutes to go in the half after Sophia Sarbanes found the back of the net thanks to an assist from Caitlin Hoover to make it a two goal game at the half. 
• The Golden Wolves would fire three shots in the final 30 minutes of the contest but could not find the back of the net as the Diplomats secured the 2-0 victory over the Golden Wolves. 

Inside the Box Score

• Lillian Case, Caroline Martin, Hadley Lewicki, Kelsy McClintock and Natalie Parent all tallied shots. 
• Jazmin Mayfield recorded nine saves in her first collegiate start in goal for Alvernia.
