Reading, Pa (September 20, 2025) - Stockton University (4-4) netted three unanswered goals in the fourth quarter en route to a 3-1 victory over Alvernia University (2-5) Saturday evening in a non-conference field hockey clash at Alvernia University. 

The Golden Wolves netted their goal in the final minutes of the first quarter and held the one goal lead until the fourth quarter when the Ospreys netted three unanswered goals in the final 15 minutes of play to secure the victory. 

How it Happened 

• The Golden Wolves struck first in the final two minutes of the first quarter after Caroline Martin assisted Ava Michael who found the back of the net to put the Golden Wolves up 1-0 after the first quarter. 
• A scoreless second quarter was highlighted by Stockton putting two shots on goal but Alvernia's Jazmin Mayfield saved both to maintain the 1-0 lead heading into the half. 
• The Golden Wolves continued to fend off the Ospreys in the third quarter as Stockton rattled off four shots and earned four corners in the third quarter but Alvernia held strong and took the one goal lead into the final 15 minutes of action. 
• Stockton leveled the score just under four minutes into the fourth quarter after Brooke Ruiz netted an unassisted goal to tie the game at one. 
• The Ospreys then grabbed the lead four minutes later after Carlee Thompson assisted Jessica Bruther to take a 2-1 lead over the Golden Wolves. 
• Stockton then secured the 3-1 victory over the Golden Wolves after a penalty stroke was called in the circle, Kristen Bailey then stepped up and converted the stroke and secured the comeback victory for Stockton. 

Inside the Box Score 

• Ava Michael tallied the lone goal for the Golden Wolves and tallied four total shots with three on goal. 
• Caroline Martin added the assist on Michael's goal and also recorded two shots of her own. 
• Kelsy McClintock tallied a shot on goal and Sofia Mollura tallied a defensive save. 
• Jazmin Mayfield recorded nine saves in net for Alvernia.
