Golden Wolves Run Past Lions, 9-0

Reading, Pa (September 17, 2025) - Alvernia University (2-3-2) netted a staggering nine goals en route to a 9-0 victory over Penn State Brandywine (1-5) Wednesday night in a non-conference matchup at Alvernia University.

The 9-0 victory for the Golden Wolves marked the largest margin of victory in program history, and the nine goals scored is the most in a game since the record of ten goals scored was set in a 10-2 victory over Marywood back in the 2001 season.

Eight Golden Wolves scored in the contest and Connor Kraycik netted two goals to lead Alvernia to the victory.

How it Happened
  • Connor Kraycik opened up the scoring for the Golden Wolves with two goals in the opening 15 minutes. Kraycik found the back of the net the first time after an assist from Eli Klinger. Kraycik then recorded his second goal of the evening after he flicked the ball up over one Penn State Brandywine defender and then cut around another before slotting his shot into the bottom right corner of the net to make it 2-0.
  • Justin Hartline then made it a three goal game in the 33rd minute and netted his first collegiate goal just a minute after stepping onto the field. Hartline crashed the 18 yard box and made a run across the box and connected with Chase Bartman who played a pretty pass on the ground to Hartline. Hartline then finished the ball into the bottom left corner of the goal to make it 3-0 Golden Wolves.
  • Alvernia tacked on one more before the half when Jake Salinas received a pass from Josh Ertel, Salinas then ripped a shot from outside the 18 yard box and into the top left corner of the goal to give Alvernia a 4-0 lead heading into the half.
  • The Golden Wolves then made it a 6-0 ball game in the 51st and 53rd minutes after Eli Klinger and Josh Ertel both drew penalties and both converted their chances from the spot.
  • Bartman made it a seven goal game in the 63rd minute of the game after Nathan Mekonnen played in a great cross from the right sideline and across the face of goal to the back post to a streaking Bartman. Bartman then got his foot on it and put the ball past the keeper and into the back of the net.
  • Chase Malone notched his first collegiate goal on a breakaway in the 69th minute to make it an 8-0 game and then Yasin Ozturk also netted his first career goal on his collegiate debut thanks to an assist from Zander Templeton to secure the 9-0 victory.
