Abington, Pa (September 17, 2025) - Alvernia University (1-3-1) dropped a non-conference women's soccer match-up to Penn State Abington (2-3), 1-0, Wednesday night at Penn State Abington's Memorial Field. 

How it Happened 

• The Golden Wolves had things going offensively early on in the match and tallied three shots in the first 25 minutes including two shots on goal and one that hit the woodwork but they were unable to find the back of the net. 
• Penn State Abington got on the board in the 27th minute after Alvernia turned it over just outside the box, and Penn State's Kaitlyn Frank got quick control of the ball and fired into the top left corner of the net to give the Lions the 1-0 lead. 
• Alvernia sent two more shots at the Abington goal in the final 20 minutes of the half but were unable to score as the Lions took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break. 
• The Golden Wolves fired seven shots in the second half and sent four on net but the Abington defense held strong and goalkeeper Kayla Kulp made all four saves to secure the 1-0 victory for the Lions. 

Inside the Box Score 

• Olivia Hanley led the Golden Wolves with four shots and three shots on goal and Camille Quirin-Morris tallied three shots with one going in target. 
• Mackenzie Hilferty, Talyer Flaherty and Macy McDonough all recorded shots on goal for Alvernia. 
• Abby Rowley recorded three saves in net for Alvernia.
