Williamsport, Pa (September 20, 2025) - Alvernia University (1-4-2) fell to Lycoming College (8-0), 2-1, after a late penalty kick goal by the Warriors Saturday afternoon in a non-conference women's soccer matchup at Lycoming's UPMC Field. 

All three goals of the game were scored in the second half including two unanswered goals by the Warriors in the 63rd and 87th minutes to secure the victory. 

How it Happened

• A scoreless first half was highlighted by the Warriors controlling the offensive side of the ball. Lycoming recorded nine shots with three shots on goal in the first half to Alvernia's two but the Alvernia defense and goaltender Emily Rossino held strong as the game headed into the half tied at zero. 
• The Golden Wolves netted the first goal of the game in the 51st minute after Tayler Flaherty found the back of the net on an unassisted goal to give the Golden Wolves one goal lead. 
• The Warriors responded 13 minutes later when Ella Magee netted an unassisted goal to level the score at one. 
• Lycoming then drew a penalty kick in the 87th minute and Magee converted her attempt from the spot to record a brace and secure the win for the Warriors. 

Inside the Box Score

• Tayler Flaherty netted the lone goal for the Golden Wolves. 
• Camille Quirin-Morris tallied two shots as well for Alvernia. 
• Emily Rossino recorded three saves in net and Abby Rowley tallied five saves in goal as well.
