Golden Wolves Fall to Dutchmen, 1-0

Reading, Pa (September 27, 2025) - Alvernia University (2-5-2) fell to Lebanon Valley College (6-1-2), 1-0, Saturday afternoon in a men's soccer matchup at Alvernia University.

The Dutchmen netted the lone goal in the 61st minute after Nathan Prex put the ball into the back of the net off a rebounded shot. The goal was all the Dutchmen needed as they fended off the Golden Wolves in the final minutes of the contest to secure the 1-0 victory.

How it Happened
  • The Golden Wolves recorded five shots in the first 34 minutes of the first half but only Eli Klinger's attempt when on goal.
  • Lebanon Valley then ripped off seven shots in the final 12 minutes of the first half but Alvernia keeper Evan Solley tallied four saves and Quinn Rabush tallied a goal line clearance to deny the Dutchmen as the game headed to the halftime break knotted at zero.
  • The Dutchmen got on the board in the 61st minute after JJ Porter fired a shot at the Alvernia net, Solley saved the initial shot from Porter but the rebound fell to the boot of a crashing Nathan Prex who put the ball into the back of the net to put LVC up 1-0.
  • The Golden Wolves had four chances to find an equalizer in the final 12 minutes of the game with Connor Kraycik, Klinger and Joseph Washington all sending shots wide but it was Chase Malone who had the best shot at a leveler in the final three minutes of the game. The Golden Wolves were awarded a corner and sent Solley into the box, leaving their net unattended. After the corner was whipped in and cleared out by LVC, the ball came to Solley who flicked a ball into the box and found the head of Malone who flicked a header onto goal but LVC's Ryan Simonette recorded the save and secured the 1-0 victory for the Dutchmen.
