Reading, Pa (September 6, 2025) - Wilkes University (2-1) netted a sixth minute goal and that was all they needed to take down Alvernia University (0-2-1), 1-0, Saturday afternoon in a non-conference women's soccer clash at Alvernia University. 

How it Happened 

• The Colonels struck first in the sixth minute after Abby Bolz assisted Maggie Allen to put Wilkes up 1-0 early in the contest. 
• The Golden Wolves would fire five shots at the Wilkes net in the final 35 minutes of the first half and put two shots on target but were unable to find the back of the net as the game headed into the halftime break with the Colonels up 1-0. 
• Alvernia came out of the halftime break and tallied a shot on goal by Sarah Warner that was saved but it was the only shot on goal the rest of the second half as the Colonels controlled the offensive side of the game and secured the slim, 1-0 victory over the Golden Wolves. 

Inside the Box Score 

• Tayler Flaherty recorded a team high two shots and recorded one shot on goal. 
• Sarah Warner also recorded a shot on goal and Camille Quirin-Morris and Macy McDonough both recorded shots. 
• Abby Rowley recorded four saves in net for the Golden Wolves
