Golden Wolves Down Mustangs, 4-1

Reading, Pa. (February 13, 2026) - Alvernia University (12-9-0, 11-8-0) took down Stevenson University (4-17-1, 4-13-1), 4-1, Friday afternoon in a MAC women's ice hockey match-up at Body Zone.

The victory for the Golden Wolves secured the season sweep over the Mustangs and also made it Alvernia's 11th straight win over Stevenson.

How it Happened
  • Alvernia got on the board early after Laila Tosi fired the puck into the back of the net from the blue line. Carla Tobin won a faceoff in the Alvernia offensive zone that she pulled back to the stick of Tosi, Tosi then ripped a shot from the blue line and tucked it inside the left post and into the back of the net to put the Golden Wolves up 1-0 in the first three minutes.
  • The Mustangs would tie things up with under five to play in the first period after the Golden Wolves were called for three successive penalties that gave the Mustangs five straight minutes of 5-4 hockey. Stevenson's Abby Smith put the puck into the back of the net to send the game into the first intermission tied at one.
  • The Golden Wolves grabbed the lead back halfway through the second period thanks to a Maddie Morris goal. Noelle De Magistris connected with Addy Gularte, Gularte then carried the puck towards the Stevenson goal and then dished the puck off to Morris on the left side of the goal, Morris then ripped a one timer that beat the Stevenson goalie and gave the Golden Wolves a 2-1 advantage heading into the final intermission.
  • Alvernia tacked on two insurance goals in the third period after Gularte found the back of the net thanks to a Morris assist and then De Magistris slotted away an empty net goal in the final five minutes of the game to seal 4-1 victory for the Golden Wolves in their home finale.
