Wilkes-Barre, Pa. (February 14, 2026) - Alvernia University (12-10-0, 11-9-0) dropped a MAC women's ice hockey matchup to #15/6 Wilkes University (21-1-1, 19-1-0), 9-1, Saturday evening at the Toyota SportsPlex. 

The Colonels netted five goals in the first period and three in the second en route to the victory. 

How it Happened 

• Wilkes got things going with two goals in the first five minutes of the game to grab an early 2-0 lead. They then tacked on two goals within 24 seconds of each other at the ten minute mark and added one more goal in the final 20 seconds of the period to take a 5-0 lead into the first intermission. 
• The Colonels pushed the lead to six after a goal seven minutes into the second period to make it 6-0. 
• Wilkes added two more goals three and four minutes later to push the lead to eight. 
• Alvernia got on the board with an Addy Gularte goal thanks to an assist from Alexis Oliveira with two minutes to go in the second period. 
• Wilkes tacked on one more goal in the third period to secure the 9-1 victory. 

Inside the Box Score 

• Addy Gularte scored the lone goal for Alvernia and Alexis Oliveira provided the assist. 
• Gillian Evans recorded three shots on goal and Kathryn Palmer posted a team high 13 faceoff wins. 
• Belle Derosiers recorded 18 saves in net for Alvernia and Juju Rodgers recorded 16 saves in relief of Derosiers.
