Golden Wolves Run By Mighty Macs, 18-3

Reading, Pa. (Feb. 21, 2026) - Alvernia Women's Lacrosse (1-1) scored six goals in the opening five minutes of action and never looked back en route to an 18-3 win over Immaculata University (0-1) on Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Alvernia.

After over a 90 minute delay, Alvernia did not waste anymore time getting things going. A goal by Makenna Thomas off the assist of Gracie Brower put Alvernia on the board. Alvernia then scored four goals in 50 seconds to take a 5-0 lead. Grace Weissenberger netted her first career goal to ignite the quick burst, and Lindsay Kerchner followed with a pair of goals. Cailyn Hawley capped off the burst, taking a draw right down the field for a goal to give Alvernia the 5-0 lead. 30 seconds after Hawley's goal, Hannah Tyler found the back of the net to give Alvernia the 6-0 lead through five minutes of action. The Mighty Macs got one back midway through the quarter, but Alvernia took the 6-1 lead into the second quarter.

Kerchner and Mia Martin combined for a pair of goals to open the second quarter and give Alvernia the 8-1 lead with 11:22 to play in the quarter. Gracie Brower got in on the scoring off the dish of Kerchner before Kerchner scored two more of her own to give Alvernia the double-digit advantage, 11-1, with 3:25 to play in the quarter. A goal from Ashley Mckeever capped off the half and gave Alvernia the 12-1 advantage going into the break.

Just like the first half, Thomas opened the scoring in the second half before the Mighty Macs netted their second of the afternoon. Martin pushed Alvernia's lead back to 12, 14-2, with her second of the day to mark the final goal of the third quarter.

Kerchner opened the fourth quarter with her sixth goal of the afternoon off the assist of Brower. Brower then assisted on the next two goals from Tyler and Haylee Roller to give Alvernia the 17-2 lead with 8:18 to go. Tyler capped off the day with her third goal for the hat trick and to give Alvernia the 18-2 lead. The Mighty Macs got on the board one more time with 90 seconds to play for the 18-3 final.

Lindsay Kerchner led Alvernia with eight points off of six goals and two assists. Both her six goals and eight points marked career highs. Gracie Brower finished with a career-high five assists, which also marked the most scored in a game since 2023 when Haleigh Lackner recorded five assists against Eastern.

Hannah Tyler finished with a hat trick and five ground balls, and Makenna Thomas finished with two goals and two assists. Cailyn Hawley finished with a goal, five ground balls, and five draw controls.

Alvernia is back in action on Wednesday hosting Swarthmore.
