Alvernia Falls to Swarthmore, 15-1

Reading, Pa. (Feb. 25, 2026) - Alvernia University (1-2) dropped a 15-1 contest to Swarthmore College (1-1) on Wednesday evening in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Alvernia University.

Swarthmore jumped out to a 7-0 lead through the first quarter and made it a 10-0 game with 8:47 to play in the opening half. The Golden Wolves got on the board with Lindsay Kerchner free-position goal with 6:49 to play to make it a 10-1 contest. The Garnet made it 12-1 going into the half. Swarthmore scored three more goals in the third quarter to take a 15-1 lead. Alvernia held the Garnet scoreless in the fourth quarter, but Swarthmore took the 15-1 win.

Lindsay Kerchner led Alvernia with its lone goal of the day. Hannah Tyler finished with a team-high four ground balls and three caused turnovers, and Makenna Thomas had a team-high four draw controls.  Addison Bolz finished with 19 saves in net for Alvernia, marking the most saves in a game by an Alvernia goalie since Katharine Giannaras made 20 in net in 2019 in a setback to Moravian.

Alvernia is back in action on Saturday at Elizabethtown.
