Mighty Macs Best Golden Wolves, 12-5

Reading, Pa. (February 25, 2026) - Alvernia University (1-1) dropped a non-conference men's lacrosse matchup to Immaculata University (2-1), 12-5, Wednesday night on Alvernia's Turf Field.

Tonight's contest was originally scheduled to be played at Immaculata at 4:00 PM but was moved to Alvernia due to field conditions after last weekend's snow storm.

The Mighty Macs held just a two goal, 6-4, advantage at halftime but then rattled off three goals in the third quarter and three goals in the fourth en route to the 12-5 victory.

How it Happened
  • The Golden Wolves jumped out to an early two goal lead thanks to unassisted goals from Ethan McManus off an Immaculata failed clearance and a Jimmy Sparacio goal put the Golden Wolves up 2-0 in the first four minutes of the game.
  • Immaculata responded with three goals in seven minutes to swing the lead in its favor, 3-2, with three minutes to play in the quarter.
  • Alvernia tied the game a minute later with another Sparacio goal but Immaculata responded again with a goal in the final two minutes of the quarter to take a one goal, 4-3, advantage into the second quarter.
  • The Mighty Macs scored the first goal of the second quarter three and a half minutes into the quarter to push their lead to 5-3, but the Golden Wolves responded again after Sparacio netted his third goal of the game to make it 5-4, with nine to play in the half.
  • Immaculata netted the final goal of the half with just over two minutes to go to push the lead to two and take a 6-4 lead into the halftime break.
  • The Mighty Macs came out of the half and held the Golden Wolves scoreless in the third stanza and tacked on three goals which pushed the lead to five, 9-4, after three quarters of play.
  • The Golden Wolves cut the lead to four, 9-5, after a McManus man up goal five minutes into the quarter but the Mighty Macs bounced back with three unanswered goals to end the game and secured the 12-5 victory.
