#4 Golden Wolves Fall to #1 Knights, 5-0, in MAC Semifinal

Aston, Pa. (February 28, 2026) - Top seeded Neumann University (16-8-2) took down #4 Alvernia University (15-11-0) by a score of 5-0 Saturday in a MAC men's ice hockey semifinal at Aston Ice Works. 

After 17 scoreless minutes to start the game, the Knights quickly grabbed the lead and never looked back. Neumann's Jared Coccimiglio broke open the scoring with a goal with 2:58 to play in the first period and then Max Donohoe followed him with a goal 11 seconds later to put Neumann up 2-0. The Knights then pushed the lead to 3-0 in the final seconds of the first period to take the three goal lead into the first intermission. 

Neumann would tack on two more insurance goals in the second period after Matt Dimaline and Nikolai Tishkevich to make it a 5-0 game heading to the second intermission. Neither team would score a goal in the third period of the contest as the Knights secured the 5-0 victory to advance to the MAC Championship game against Stevenson. 

Matthew Henry, Edvin Robertsson and Leo Cabulis all fired three shots on goal for the Golden Wolves. Matthew Imbriano recorded a team high nine faceoff wins and also added two shots on goal. Connor Graham recorded 17 saves in net for Alvernia and Jeff Kreidler tallied 11 in goal. 

The loss ended the season for the Golden Wolves and they finished with a 15-11-0 overall record and a 13-8-0 record in the MAC.
