Oberman, Sparacio Lead Golden Wolves Past Devils, 13-6

Madison, N.J. (March 14, 2026) - Alvernia University (4-2) used two scoring stretches of five and six goals in a row en route to a 13-6 victory over FDU-Florham (4-3) Saturday afternoon in a non-conference men's lacrosse matchup at FDU-Florham. 

The Devils took an early 2-1 lead but the Golden Wolves rattled off five straight goals before the end of the first half to take a 6-2 lead into the halftime break. Alvernia then outscored the Devils, 7-4, in the second half en route to the seven goal, 13-6 victory. 

How it Happened 
  • FDU got on the board first with a goal just over four minutes into the first quarter but the Golden Wolves responded with a goal from Charles Oberman three minutes later to tie the game at one a piece. 
  • The Devils answered 14 seconds later with a goal to put them back in the lead, 2-1, with under seven to play in the first quarter. 
  • Alvernia would tie things back up after Jimmy Sparacio assisted Jack Natyshak with under four minutes to play in the first quarter to send the game to the second quarter tied at two. 
  • Alvernia then rattled off four goals in the second quarter and held FDU scoreless in the frame to take a 6-2 lead into the halftime break. Ethan McManus netted the first goal of the quarter, Oberman added his second of the afternoon and Sparacio netted two goals in the quarter for the Golden Wolves. 
  • Oberman tallied his third goal of the game just a minute and four seconds into the second half thanks to an assist from Sparacio to put the Golden Wolves up five goals, 7-2. 
  • FDU responded with a goal four minutes later to make it a 7-3 Alvernia lead but the Golden Wolves answered the bell again and rattled off five straight goals including three to end the third quarter and took a 12-3 lead with ten minutes to play in the fourth quarter. 
  • The Devils netted three of the final four goals of the game but it was not enough as the Golden Wolves secured the 13-6 victory over the Devils. 

Inside the Box Score 
  • Both Charles Oberman and Jimmy Sparacio led the way offensively for the Golden Wolves with six points each. Oberman netted a career high six goals in the victory which bested his previous career high of five goals. Sparacio netted two goals and dished out four assists. 
  • Jack Natyshak scored two goals and dished out an assist for a total of three points and Ethan McManus netted two goals as well in the victory. 
  • Keegan Driscoll rounded out the Golden Wolves to score. Zackary Moats dished out two assists and Bryan Pilpel and Tanner Caka both recorded assists as well. 
  • Wesley Clemison led the Golden Wolves defense with three caused turnovers and five ground balls. Alex Johns also caused two turnovers and Christian Wright caused a turnover and picked up three ground balls. 
  • Jack Kenney recorded 17 faceoff wins and went 17-22 and also scooped up a team high ten ground balls. 
  • Nathan Byrne started in net for the Golden Wolves and tallied seven saves and earned the win.

  • The Golden Wolves are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Wilkes to take on the Colonels in a non-conference matchup at 7:00 PM.
