Fourth Quarter Surge Powers Dutchmen Past Golden Wolves, 19-8

Reading, Pa. (March 21, 2026) - Lebanon Valley College (7-2) used an eight goal fourth quarter to down Alvernia University (5-3) 19-8 in non-conference men's lacrosse action at Alvernia on Saturday.

Alvernia honored its three seniors - Jack Kenney, Alexander Piasecki, and Christian Wright - prior to the contest.

Alvernia trailed by just four goals, 11-7, going into the fourth quarter. But, the Dutchmen went on a 5-0 run in the first five minutes to take a 16-7 lead with ten minutes to play. The Dutchmen added three more the remainder of the quarter to take a 19-8 win.

How it Happened
  • After seven minutes of scoreless action to open the game, the Dutchmen struck first to get on the board. Alvernia answered 90 seconds later and evened the game at 1-1 on a goal by Ethan McManus off the assist of Zackary Moats. Lebanon Valley scored the final three goals of the quarter - including two man-up goals - to take a 4-1 lead into the second.
  • Alvernia cut the game within two, 4-2, on a goal by Keegan Driscoll off the assist of Jimmy Sparacio two minutes into the second frame. But, the Dutchmen scored the next two goals to take a 6-2 lead with seven minutes remaining in the first half.
  • Alvernia got one back on a goal by Charles Oberman off the assist of Jack Natyshak to get within three, 6-3, with 5:30 to play in the half. Alvernia nearly cut the game to within two in the final seconds of the half off a pair of shots by Natyshak. But, the Dutchmen keeper made two great saves, and Lebanon Valley converted a quick clear before firing off a shot and scoring with just seconds left in the half to take a 7-3 lead into the break.
  • The Dutchmen scored the first two goals of the second half to build their lead up to six, 9-3. But, Alvernia again cut it down to a four goal lead off of goals by Oberman and Natyshak to make it a 9-5 game with seven minutes to play in the third.
  • After Lebanon Valley scored two more, Alvernia again answered to get within four, 11-7, in the final minutes of the third. Both Natyshak and McManus found the back of the net for the Golden Wolves.
  • The Dutchmen erupted in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter, scoring five goals in five minutes to quickly push their lead up to nine, 16-7. After a brief pause in the scoring, Lebanon Valley made it a ten goal contest, 17-7, with 6:32 to play. Natyshak netted his third of the afternoon to put an end to the Dutchmen's run, but Lebanon Valley scored twice more to close out the game and come away with the 19-8 win.
