Fast Start Powers Osprey Past Golden Wolves

Galloway, NJ (March 21, 2026) - Stockton University (6-3) scored 11 first half goals en route to a 16-4 win over Alvernia University (1-8) on Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Stockton.

The Osprey posted five goals in the first four minutes to take the early lead. Stockton built it to a 7-0 lead through the first quarter and took an 11-0 lead with eight minutes to play in the first half.

Alvernia got on the board with a Grace Weissenberger goal off the assist of Makenna Thomas with 3:30 to play in the half. 90 seconds later, Weissenberger found the back of the net again to make it an 11-2 game going into the half.

The Osprey made it a ten goal game, 12-2, with a goal just over a minute into the second half. Alvernia got a pair back off a goal from Gracie Brower off the assist of Thomas and a goal from Hannah Tyler off the assist of Lindsay Kerchner with ten minutes to play in the third. But, the Osprey scored the final four goals of the game to take the 16-4 win.

Grace Weissenberger and Makenna Thomas each finished with two points. Weissenberger secured her two off of two goals, and Thomas' came off a pair of assists. Thomas also led Alvernia with four draw controls. Cailyn Hawley had a team high four ground balls and also had two caused turnovers. Addison Bolz finished with 12 saves in net.

Alvernia is back in action on Wednesday hosting Gwynedd Mercy at 4:00 PM.
