Alvernia Honors 116 Student-Athletes at Senior Athlete Awards Ceremony

Reading, Pa. (May 8, 2026) - Alvernia University held its annual Senior Athlete Awards Ceremony Friday evening in the Physical Education Center on Alvernia University's campus. 

Alvernia honored 116 graduating senior student-athletes including 64 of them being honored for their academic excellence and maintaining a 3.30 GPA or higher during their careers. Additionally, 14 student-athletes were honored for their athletic and academic achievements during their years as a Golden Wolf. 

Kathryn Palmer of Field Hockey and Women's Ice Hockey and Chance Babb of Men's Wrestling were both honored as Alvernia's Most Outstanding Female and Male Athletes. Most Outstanding Athlete is awarded to a male and female student-athlete who have demonstrated superior excellence in their sport, or sports, garnering conference, regional and national acclaim throughout their careers at Alvernia. 

Elisabeth Schwarz from Women's Track & Field and Brad Coley of Baseball were both honored as Alvernia's Senior Scholar Athletes. Senior Scholar Athlete is awarded to the student-athletes who have excelled in the classroom at the highest level during their Alvernia careers. 

Christian Wright of Men's Lacrosse and Jordyn Ingelido of Women's Basketball were both awarded the Kelly McCloskey Franciscan Award. The Kelly McCloskey Franciscan Award is presented to student-athletes who embody the core values of both Kelly and the mission of Alvernia and demonstrates a high level of integrity, sportsmanship and a positive attitude during their careers at Alvernia. 

Six student-athletes were awarded Athletic Excellence Awards for excelling athletically in their sport, earning conference, regional and or national recognition for their accomplishments during their careers at Alvernia. Evan Solley of Men's Soccer, Jennah DeGout of Women's Basketball, Nick Ferraioli of Baseball, Alexia Fitzgerald of Softball, Shawn Williams of Men's Golf and Kayleigh Kight of Women's Lacrosse were all honored for their high levels of athletics accomplishments while at Alvernia. 

Mylina Castillo of Women's Track & Field and Emma Hackett of Women's Equestrian rounded out the major award winners and both were awarded the Golden Wolf Award. The Golden Wolf Award is presented to athletes who embody the mission of the institution through their actions on and off the field, and for excelling in the classroom and representing Alvernia in the community.
