Piccininno Earns Academic All-MAC Honors

Reading, Pa. (June 30, 2026) - Alvernia University Men's Ice Hockey forward Anthony Piccininno earned Academic All-MAC Honors for his performance on the ice and in the classroom during his first year season as announced by the Middle Atlantic Conference on Tuesday. 

The MAC sports information directors nominate and vote for the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight on both academic success and athletic success. A student-athlete must have a fall semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.   

Piccininno, a first year student, majoring in business administration, management and finance. Piccininno joins eight other MAC Men's Ice Hockey players on the Academic All-MAC team. 

Piccininno earned Second Team All-MAC honors as a forward during the 2025-2026 campaign. Piccininno played in 24 games for the Golden Wolves during his first year and led Alvernia in all three statistical categories. Piccininno netted 11 goals and dished out ten assists for a total of 21 points. Piccininno netted two power-play goals, one short handed goal and also tallied a hat-trick in a 3-1 victory over Arcadia. Piccininno's 11 goals ranked him in a tie for eighth in the MAC and his three game winning goals ranked him in a tie for the third most in the conference. Piccininno also posted a 54% faceoff win percentage which was the tenth best in the MAC.
