Haverford, Pa. (September 12, 2026) - Alvernia University (2-2) dropped a non-conference field hockey match up to Haverford College, 5-1, Saturday afternoon at Haverford.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Golden Wolves and Ford combined for four goals in the final five minutes of the second quarter with Haverford tallying three of the four to take a 3-1 lead into the half. The Fords then tacked on two more second half goals to secure the victory.

A scoreless first quarter was highlighted by a balanced attack from both sides. Haverford led with four total shots but did not put one on goal. Alvernia ripped three shots at the Haverford goal with one going on target off the stick of Alessandra Stevens but Haverford's Lindsey Darby made the save to send the game scoreless into the second quarter.

After nine more scoreless minutes into the second quarter the scoring opened up. Haverford broke the scoreless tie in the 25th minute when Erica Pardon assisted Morgan Reis to put Haverford up 1-0.

Alvernia answered the Fords 30 seconds later when Ava Michael netted an unassisted goal to tie the game at one.

Haverford then bounced back with two goals in the final five minutes of the first half to take a 3-1 lead over the Golden Wolves at the half.

The Fords added a fourth goal in the first five minutes of the third quarter to extend the lead to three, 4-1.

Haverford tacked on one more goal in the final ten minutes of the game to secure the 5-1 victory over the Golden Wolves.
