Reading, Pa. (September 12, 2026) - Alvernia University (2-2-1) fell to #6 Dickinson University (2-3-0), 5-3, Saturday afternoon in a non-conference men's soccer clash at Alvernia University.
The Red Devils jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 12 minutes of the game before the Golden Wolves answered back with a Chase Malone goal to make it 2-1. Dickinson would tack one more goal on in the first half to take a 3-1 lead into the halftime break. Dickinson then added another goal in the 69th minute to push the lead to 4-1. Alvernia tallied two goals in the final eight minutes of the game but Dickinson also added a goal as they secured the 5-3 victory over the Golden Wolves.Â

Dickinson struck early in the first half when Maxim Temple found the back of the net after an assist from Jeremy Sallade to put the Red Devils up 1-0.Â

Dickinson added a second goal six minutes later in the 12th minute when Temple tallied his second goal of the half to make it a 2-0 game.Â

The Golden Wolves pulled one back in the 20th minute after Chase Malone flicked the ball over the Dickinson goalie and into the back of the net to make it a 2-1 game.Â

The Red Devils extended the lead back to two, 3-1, after a free kick shot was saved but Westin Fryberger tapped in the rebound to put the Red Devils up 3-1 at the half.Â

The Golden Wolves had a chance to get back within one in the first minute of the second half after Alvernia was awarded a penalty kick. Alvernia's Jackson Taliani stepped up to the spot but his attempt hit the crossbar and kept Dickinson in the lead, 3-1.Â

Dickinson extended its lead to three, 4-1, after Nicholas Dwamena fired the ball into the back of the net in the 69th minute.Â

After nearly 14 minutes of scoreless play, Parker Lukens lined up a 30 yard throw-in that pushed past the Red Devils defense and connected with the head of Chase Bartman who hammered it home to cut the Red Devils' lead to 4-2.Â

Dickinson quickly responded within the 86th minute to extend their goal lead back to three.Â

As time dwindled down in the 89th minute, Nathanial Bartholomew played a long free kick into the Dickinson box that trickled past the defense and flicked off the head of Axel Solano to bring the Red Devils' lead back to two goals.Â
