Reading, Pa. (September 16, 2026) - Alvernia University (3-2-1) tallied a season high six goals in a 6-1 victory over Immaculata University (0-5) Wednesday night in a non-conference men's soccer matchup at Alvernia. 

The Golden Wolves netted a goal in the first 45 seconds of the game to take the 1-0 lead but the Mighty Macs responded less than a minute later after converting a penalty kick opportunity. The Golden Wolves then proceeded to net five unanswered goals en route to the 6-1 victory over the Mighty Macs. 

How it Happened 

• The Golden Wolves broke the scoreless tie 45 seconds into the game after Chase Malone pressured the Immaculata goalkeeper and flicked the ball to Joseph Washington who slotted the ball into the back of the net to put Alvernia up 1-0 early. 
• The Mighty Macs bounced right back after an Alvernia foul in the box awarded Immaculata a penalty kick less than a minute later. Immaculata's Milan Kosiba converted the opportunity from the spot and leveled the game at one, in the first two minutes of the contest. 
• Brendan Corpus then tallied his first goal of the night in the 13th minute after Chase Bartman played him the ball across the top of the 18 yard box, Corpus then took a touch and ripped the ball into the right corner of the goal to put the Golden Wolves on top, 2-1. 
• The Golden Wolves added to their lead six minutes later when Corpus struck again, this time thanks to an assist from Washington, Corpus put the Golden Wolves up two, 3-1, inside the first 20 minutes of the game. 
• Alvernia netted one more goal before the half, which came in the 22nd minute after Bartman slipped a through ball to the foot of Chase Malone, Malone then curled the ball into the side netting of the goal to give the Golden Wolves a three goal, 4-1 advantage heading into the half. 
• The Golden Wolves added to their lead right after the second half started when Malone dished out an assist to Luke Williamson who fired the ball into the back of the net to extend the Alvernia lead to 5-1. 
• Alvernia capped the night in the 73rd minute with a beautiful Josh Ertel goal to seal the five goal, 6-1 victory over Immaculata. 

Inside the Box Score 

• Brendan Corpus netted two goals for the Golden Wolves and totaled three shots. 
• Chase Malone led the way offensively with a goal and he also added two assists in 42 minutes played. 
• Chase Bartman also dished out two assists, Joseph Washington scored a goal and added an assist and Luke Williamson and Josh Ertel both netted goals for the Golden Wolves. 
• Andrew Etkin recorded three saves in net for the Golden Wolves and earned the win. 
• With the victory, Alvernia stays unbeaten against Immaculata and notches the ninth win all time against the Mighty Macs and seventh in a row. 

Up Next 

• Alvernia is back in action on Saturday when they travel to Elizabethtown to face off against the Blue Jays at 7:00 PMn in their annual Kicks for Cancer Game. Due to renovations at Elizabethtown's field, the game will be played at Jane Hoover Turf Field at Elizabethtown High School. 
• There will also not be a live stream of the game on Saturday as there is not sufficient internet capabilities at the new site of competition.
