Elizabethtown, Pa. (September 19, 2026)  - Alvernia University (4-2-1) took down Elizabethtown College (3-2-2), 2-1, thanks to goals from Chase Malone and Jackson Taliani Saturday night in a non-conference men's soccer clash at Elizabethtown.

The game came as the annual Kick's for Cancer game between the two programs and helps raise awareness for breast cancer.

Alvernia's Malone broke the scoreless tie in the first seven minutes of the game before Taliani made it 2-0 in the 53rd minute. Elizabethtown pulled one back in the 58th minute of the game but it was not enough as the Golden Wolves secured the 2-1 victory over the Blue Jays.

How it Happened

  • The Golden Wolves doubled their lead seven minutes into the second half when Taliani found the back of the net on an unassisted goal that pushed the Alvernia lead to 2-0.
  • The Blue Jays responded quickly with a goal five minutes later via Brady Williamson after an assist by Owen Auchenbach pulled the Blue Jays within one, 2-1.
  • The Alvernia defense held the Blue Jays to just two shots in the final 35 minutes of the game and neither of them were on target as the Golden Wolves secured the 2-1 victory over the Blue Jays.
