Madison, N.J. (September 12, 2026) — Alvernia Women's Soccer (1-2-1) dropped their first game of the Drew Fall Festival to Ursinus (3-1) on Saturday afternoon in Madison, N.J. Kyla Lytle netted her first career goal in the 84th minute off a corner opportunity to break the scoreless drought for the Golden Wolves as they fell to the Bears, 5-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- From the opening whistle, Ursinus hit the ground running and broke through in the 17th minute of action with a goal from their leading goal scorer, Alexis Whaley.
- In the 24th minute, the Bears were awarded a penalty kick, which was taken and converted by Gwyn Krystkiewicz, which proved to be the game-winner.
- The Bears would add to their lead in the 36th minute, making it a 3-0 game going into the half.
- Ursinus struck twice within two minutes of play during the 64th and 65th minutes to extend their lead to five over the Golden Wolves.
- In the 84th minute, the Golden Wolves drew a corner opportunity off of a Tayler Flaherty shot attempt. Mia Ralston lined up to take the kick and sent a high-flying cross into the box that found the head of Kyla Lytle for her first collegiate goal of her career.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Kyla Lytle scored her first collegiate goal and the only one for the Golden Wolves in the contest.
- Mia Ralston recorded an assist off of the corner opportunity late in the 84th minute.
- Tayler Flaherty led the way with two shots on goal and Emily Walter also took a shot on goal.
- Ava Schmidt registered four saves on the day.
