Anderson, Wolf Named Alvernia Athletes of the Week

Reading, Pa. (September 14, 2026) - Allison Wolf of Women's Volleyball and Kashantis Anderson of Football earned Alvernia Athletes of the Week honors for their performances on the field and court during the week of September 7th-12th presented by Visions Federal Credit Union.

Anderson, a senior defensive back, recorded a team high nine tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and an interception in a setback to Widener this weekend. Of Anderson's nine tackles, eight of them came as solo tackles and he added one assisted tackle. Anderson's forced fumble and fumble recovery also came on the same play when he ripped the ball out of a Widener receiver's hands to give the Golden Wolves the ball back in Pride territory. The Alvernia drive after the Anderson turnover resulted in a 41 yard field goal that put Alvernia up 10-7 early in the fourth quarter. Anderson then added his second takeaway of the game later in the fourth quarter when he intercepted Widener's Andrew Olsen deep in Alvernia territory to give the Golden Wolves the ball back. Anderson is just the second player in program history to record a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and an interception in the same game.

Wolf, a junior outside hitter, tallied 26 kills with a .255 attack percentage, 11 digs, four service aces and posted a .929 service reception percentage to lead the Golden Wolves to a 2-0 week. Wolf played in all seven sets for the Golden Wolves during the two games and started in both of those games. In a four set victory over Penn State Schuylkill on Tuesday, Wolf posted 13 kills on 27 attempts for a total attack percentage of .222. Wolf also added two service aces and three digs and three of her ten kills came in the fourth set to help lead Alvernia to victory. Wolf then tallied another 13 kill performance on Thursday in a victory over Bryn Mawr and posted a .286 hitting percentage on 28 total attempts. Wolf added another two service aces and eight digs and committed just five attack errors. Wolf hammered home seven of her 13 kills in the match in the third set against the Owls to help lift the Golden Wolves to the 3-0 sweep.

Football is back in action on Saturday when they host Widener at 1:00 PM in their home opener. Women's Volleyball is back at it tomorrow when they travel to Stevenson for their first MAC Commonwealth matchup of the season at 7:00 PM.
