Carlisle, Pa. (September 29) - On Tuesday afternoon, the Alvernia University women's volleyball team dropped a three-set match to Dickinson College on the road. The Golden Wolves' offense came out strong in the opening set, competing closely with the Red Devils. However, Dickinson answered each Alvernia push and ultimately took all three sets.

The Red Devils stormed out to an early lead, jumping ahead of the Golden Wolves 10-4. A 4-2 run, highlighted by two Allison Wolf kills, cut the deficit to 12-8. However, Dickinson responded with a 4-2 run of its own to extend its lead to 16-10, forcing an Alvernia timeout. Despite three kills from Casey Treude, the Golden Wolves couldn't put together a run and dropped the opening set 25-17.

In set two, the Red Devils continued to build momentum, using a 14-2 run to control the majority of the set. Treude, Wolf, Melina Stinsky, and Julia Lassandro each recorded points for Alvernia, but Dickinson went on to take the second set 25-7.

Dickinson carried its momentum into the third set and cruised to an early 10-4 advantage. The Red Devils' defense continued to stiffen, holding the Golden Wolves to just two more points for the remainder of the set to secure the 25-6 victory.
