1. NCAA SAAC Video
a. Watched video as a group about the SAAC Division III program
2. Officers
a. President: Brian Longo
b. Vice President : Alex Velasquez
c. Secretary: Christy Yousaitis
3. Hazing Video –
a. Discussed hazing among our teams. All members agreed that there
is hazing on our Campus.
b. Read through different situations of hazing
c. Discussed the definition of hazing and the three types
i. Subtle, Harassment, Violent
d. Discussed penalties such as team suspension, arrest
4. Tara-SGA Representative
a. Additional Representatives – Kara Ross, Brian Nerney
5. Homecoming 2009
a. In the future we are going to determine who will participate in what
event.
6. Adopt-A-Team
a. Changed the idea of Adopt-a-team
b. Athletes will be grouped and each group will promote and attend an
event (contest)
i. Example: Groups of spring sports players will go to a cross
country meet and bring oranges.
c. Will break groups up in October
7. Community Service
a. Athletes will be broken up in to groups for community service
b. Big Brother Big Sister
i. Basketball teams participated in Big Brothers Big Sisters in the
past
c. Canned Food Drive
8. Drug Testing
a. Discussed Alvernia’s new policy
b. SAAC reps will help to run testing
9. Leadership ideas to be discussed at future meetings
a. What it takes to be a captain or Qualities all captains should have
10. Issues/Concerns
a. Basketball team
i. Issues with Spring sports nicking the basketball court
ii. Would like spring sports will make sure to sweep the court
after indoor practices
iii. Dance team would like team duffle bags and warm-ups.
11. MASCAC SAAC Conference Meeting
a. Friday, September 18th
b. Attending: Brian Longo, Tyler Runkle, Christy Yousaitis, Kara Ross
c. Conference call in October
12. Closure – next meeting will be in early October
