Schermerhorn competed in seven events during the 2022 season and posted his career best 8k time at the Lock Haven XC Invitational with a time of 27:38.2. Schermerhorn competed at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional, finishing with a time of 28:07.4 and posted a time of 28:17.4 at the MAC Championships. Schermerhorn ran a 28:02.6 8k time at Sailsbury’s Don Cathcart Invitational and recorded a time of 28:52.4 at Gettysburg’s Aubrey Schenk Invitational. Schermerhorn posted a time of 28:38.6 at the LVC Dutchmen Invite and ran his career best 5k time of 17:32.8 at the Baltimore Metro Meet hosted by Goucher.

Schermerhorn competed in six events in 2021, he competed at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional where he posted a time of 30:36.9 and competed at the MAC Championships where he ran a 30:46.6 8k time and finished 87th. Schermerhorn recorded his best 8k time of the season at the LVC Dutchmen XC Invite where he ran a 29:29.7 and posted a time of 29:57.9 at the DeSales CC Invitational. Schermerhorn ran a 31:05.4 at the Rowan Inter-Regional Border Battle and posted his career best 4k time of 14:05.8 at Goucher’s Gopher Twilight, where he finished fourth.
