Craig Plue has been engaged in coaching ice hockey for the better of the last 15 years in the Reading and Berks County area. Coach Plue has coached youth of all ages from “Learn to Skate” through College teams in the area. His involvement has included coaching at Timberline/Reading Skate Center, Holy Name Ice Hockey Club, Conrad Weiser Ice Hockey Club, The Reading Jr. Royals Ice Hockey Club, and Alvernia University Ice Hockey team. This will be Coach Plue’s fifth season with the Crusader organization.
Using his experience from growing up on the frozen ponds of Upstate New York, Coach Plue brings a disciplined and systematic approach to the game. By creating a winning team environment, Coach Plue has taken teams to the Playoffs in every year of coaching, including two trips to the Conference Championship game with Alvernia, the Atlantic District Championship game with the Reading Jr. Royals and numerous scholastic playoff appearances. In the 2008-2009 season, Coach Plue’s Reading Jr. Royals team finished first in the DVHL Bantam B division.
Coach Plue graduated from Albright College in 1993 with a Degree in Political Science. While at Albright College, Coach Plue lettered in track and cross country all four years. He was captain of the cross country team his junior and senior seasons. In 1993, Coach Plue broke a 14 year old school record in the steeplechase. In 1999 Coach Plue received his Juris Doctrate from Widener University School of Law. He has been employed by XO Communications since 1997. Coach Plue maintains a small private law practice.
Coach Plue has a wife of 13 years, Jocelyn, and two children, Garrett, and Brittany. Both children are playing with the Reading Jr. Royals Ice Hockey Club.
