Regina University, located in Newport, RI.
Meany spent his college days with the Providence Friars where he was a goalie for back-to-back Pilgrim Valley League Championship teams in 1985 and 1986. He is a 1982 graduate of Delbarton School in Morristown, New Jersey, where he played defense for the Green Wave.
Meany began his coaching career at Milburn High School in Milburn, New Jersey. He was the varsity head coach for 10 years from 1993-02, and amassed a 103-76 record. In 2001 Meany received the Distinguished Service Award from the New Jersey Chapter of US Lacrosse. He took over at Salve Regina in November of 2002 and in 2003 moved to Reading, PA to lead a young program at Alvernia.
Alvernia moved into the MAC Conference for the 2009 season. “With the recent move to the MAC, the projected improvements to the campus, and the tremendous support the Administration has shown for athletics,” said Meany, “everything is in place for Alvernia to become a premiere Division III Lacrosse program.”
