Jodie Swavely-Brown

Swavely-Brown joins the Crusader coaching staff for the 2012 season after serving as an assistant at Columbus State University from 2009-2011.  Prior to her time at CSU, Swavely-Brown was an assistant coach at Kutztown University (2007-2009) and a graduate assitant at Armstrong Atlantic State University (2006-2007). 
At CSU, Swavely-Brown assisted in all day-to-day operations of the Divsion II softball team, with her primary coaching responsbility being with the pitching staff.  During her tenure at DII Kutztown University Swavely-Brown helped guide the Golden Bears to the winningest two-year period in school history, while also mentoring the 2009 PSAC Pitcher of the Year and two PSAC Players of the Year.  As a graduate assistant at Armstrong Atlantic State University she guided the Pirates to the South Atlantic Regional finals.

Swavely-Brown is a 2006 graduate of IUP where she was a stand-out pitcher throughout her career.  She holds the IUP career record for strikeouts (643), shares the career win record (62), and also posted a career .325 batting average and 26 homeruns.  Swavely-Brown was named to the PSAC First Team in 2003-2006 and was also named to the NFCA Regional All-American team all four years at IUP. 

Swavely-Brown has also spent time playing professionally in Belgium (2006, 2009) and played in the European National Cup Tournament.

Coach Swavely-Brown is a 2002 graduate of Fleetwood High School and holds her BA in Sport Administration from IUP.
