Nicole Henninger (Kutztown, 2013) joins Alvernia Softball for the beginning in the 2013 fall non-traditional season. Henninger joins the Crusaders after graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor's of Science in Leisure and Sports Studies, and leading Kutztown to the NCAA Division II National Championship game in 2013.
After her junior year, due to injury, Henninger served as a student-assistant coach at Kutztown and most recently, she coached and managed the Connecticut Hornets 18U team based in Branford, CT. Henninger also completed a coaching internship with Fleetwood HS and has extensive experience working softball skills camps.
As a three-year player for the Golden Bears of Kutztown, Henninger was named to the All-PSAC East First team three times, including being named the 2011 PSAC East Player of the Year after leading the PSAC in home runs with 16 and leading Kutztown in Batting Average (.342) and RBIs (49). In 2011 she was also named to the NFCA All-Region First Team and selected to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-American Third Team. Henninger also earned All-Region status her senior year when she led Kutztown to the NCAA Atlantic Regional and PSAC title. Prior to her time at Kutztown, Henninger spent her freshman year at Shippensburg where she led the team with a .390 batting average, and in hts (64), doubles (12) and RBIs (47). She was named All-PSAC East Second Team and Daktronics All-Atlantic Second Team.
Henninger hails from Reading, Pa. and is a Muhlenberg HS graduate.
