April Halligan Rostek

April Halligan–Rostek was promoted to the position of head coach for the newly formed Spirit Team--the combination of Alvernia's cheer and dance teams.  Halligan-Rostek will oversee performances at games and manage the appearances of the Golden Wolves' mascot. 

Halligan-Rostek was initially hired at Alvernia as the dance team coach in the fall of 2013. She came to the Alvernia after spending four years at Cabrini College, where she was the dance team choreographer.

Prior to Cabrini, she served as the coach for the West Chester dance team for two years. In addition to coaching, Halligan-Rostek taught dance for over six years.  She is certified and trained in the areas of ballet, modern, lyrical, jazz, tap, hip-hop and partner dance and has accumulated numerous dance awards, including ESPN UDA Nationals.

She graduated from West Chester University with her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a minor in dance. She received her Master’s in Education from Cabrini and is currently working on her doctorate here at Alvernia.
