Nicole Rhoads was promoted to the Field Hockey head coach position prior to the 2008 season.  Before that she assisted with both the field hockey and women's lacrosse teams at Alvernia.  Rhoads joined the field hockey coaching staff in 2004, and the lacrosse staff in 2005. 

She brings with her a wealth of knowledge as a four year field hockey player for Division II Bloomsburg University, where her team won two NCAA titles, and two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference

Championships.  Rhoads was a three-time All-American and also named three times to the All-PSAC team.  She graduated in 2004 from Bloomsburg with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Corporate Fitness.

She is a 2000 graduate of Oley Valley High School, where she was a three-sport varsity athlete. Her high school field hockey teams won three Berks County titels, two PIAA District titles, and one state title.

She is currently the Student-Athlete Services Coordinator for the Alvernia University Athletic Department.
