Stephanie Kunkel, Head Coach

Stephanie Kunkel joined the Volleyball team for their 2008 season season.  Now going into her fifth season with Alvernia (2012), she holds a record of 20-65.  Before coming to Alvernia, Kunkel spent seven season as the head coach of Fleetwood High School.  As head coach at Fleetwood, Kunkel led the team to their first county play-off and first District Quarterfinal appearance in school history.  During her tenure as head coach, Fleetwood made five district appearances.

Kunkel is a 1999 graduate of Alvernia, and was a three-year starter for the Crusader volleyball team.  She was selected captain and earned MVP in 1998.  In addition to numerous Player of the Week honors, Kunkel was named to the All-PAC Second Team in 1998.  Kunkel spent her high school years at Schuylkill Valley and was a member of the Volleyball Club before it became a recognized PIAA sport.  

Coach Kunkel is still active in amateur volleyball playing women's doubles, women's sixes, co-ed sixes and USVBA women's sixes.
