Alvernia University Athletics

Angel Guerrero joined the Alvernia University football program in 2022 as the Running Backs coach and became the Offensive Line coach prior to the 2023 season. The Alvernia University Football program had it's best year in program history in 2022 with the most conference and overall wins.  In 2022 running back EJ Lee earned All-MAC Honors. 

Before his time with Alvernia University, Guerrero began his coaching career with the NCAA Division 1(FCS) Delaware State University Hornets football program and served as an assistant offensive line coach in 2021.  The Hornet's offense ranked second in the MEAC in total scoring and third in total rushing and the offensive line unit had three All-MEAC players.

Guerrero had a successful playing career for the Wesley College Wolverines where he was a three-year letterwinner on the offensive line.  While at Wesley earned first-team NJAC honors and made a pair of postseason appearances.
   
Guerrero earned a Bachelor of Science degree in sports management from Delaware State University in 2021. He is a native of Newark, Del, and graduated from Newark High in 2016.
