Alvernia Rolls Into Semifinals

Sikorski Leads Crusaders With 15 Kills

Dallas, Pa. (Oct. 30, 2007) – Fifth-seeded Alvernia College set the tone early with a 30-19 win in the opening game and behind a team-high 15 kills from senior middle hitter Amy Sikorski (Topton, Pa./Brandywine Heights), rolled to a 3-0 win over #4 Misericordia Tuesday evening in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Championships at Misericordia.

Alvernia will have travel to top-seeded Eastern University for a semifinal match on Thursday. The other semifinal will feature #3 Cabrini College, a 3-1 winner over #6 Gwynedd-Mercy Tuesday evening, at #2 Neumann College at 7:00 p.m. Thursday.

Junior libero Lauren Crimi (Nazareth, Pa./Notre Dame) finished the night with a team-high 17 and Sikorski added a dozen. Freshman setter Leah Crimi (Nazareth, Pa./Notre Dame) tallied 31 assists and was one of three players to chip in with nine digs for the Crusaders.
