BOX SCORE

Immcaulata, Pa. (Dec. 3, 2007) – Immaculata Unviersity cut a 12-point halftime deficit to one point early in the second half, but Alvernia College answered with an 18-1 run to open up a 18-point lead with nine minutes to play en route to a 66-43 win in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference women's basketball action at Alumnae Hall.

Freshman forward Tracee Harrison (Willow Street, Pa./Solanco) led the way during the second half run with six points for Alvernia (3-3, 2-0 PAC) and the Crusaders, who have forced 58 turnovers in the last two games, benefited from seven of Immaculata's 28 turnovers to help keep the run alive and the Mighty Macs (2-4, 0-3 PAC) were 0-for-5 from the floor.

Harrison finished the night with 10 points and a team-high six rebounds while Kelli McIntyre (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain) and Jill Rosolie (Quarryville, Pa./Solanco) led the way for the guests with 11 points apiece. Jessica Gaburo was the only Mighty Mac to reach double-digits with 11 points.

Alvernia took the 2-0 lead on a McIntyre layup and never trailed. The 5-7 freshman scored the first five for Alvernia and the Crusaders opened up an early 11-point lead on Michelle Lutzkanin's (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) only 3 of the night.

The hosts cut that lead down to eight points, but Alvernia pushed it back to 13 points twice on free throws late in the first half and settled for a 12-point lead at the break, 32-20.

Alvernia managed just one free throw and a Rosolie layup over the first five minutes of the second half as the Mighty Macs rattled off 14 points, including six from Gaburo to pull within one, 35-34, with 15:29 to play.

Freshman Alex Velazquez (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) scored on a layup to stop the Immaculata run and spark the 18-1 streak for Alvernia. The Crusaders pushed the second half lead to as many as 26 points, 66-40 and settled for the 66-43 win.

The Crusaders are off for the remainder of the first semester and will return to action on a New Year's trip to the Virgin Islands.
