Reading, Pa. (Sept. 12, 2007) – Freshmen Jenny McKee (York, Pa./York Catholic) and Hannah Dickey (Summit, N.J./Summit) seemed down and out in their No. 1 doubles match facing a 6-3 deficit, but the two mounted a stunning comeback spurring a 7-2 victory for Alvernia College over Misericordia University Wednesday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference women's tennis action at Green Valley Country Club.

Sophomore Janine Horning (Red Hill, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) and freshman Katie McCormack (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) also posted a come-from-behind, 8-4 win to stay undefeated this season at No. 2 doubles as Alvernia (2-1, 1-0 PAC) swept all three doubles matches.

McKee and Dickey rode the momentum to straight set wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles respectively. Heather Leader (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts), who teamed with Samantha Bader (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) for an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles earned a three set win at No. 5 singles and McCormack also earned a point with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles.

McKee and Dickey started their No. 1 doubles comeback down 6-3. They fought back and survived a match point on McKee's serve down 7-6. The momentum continued as they earned a break on the following MU serve and Dickey served out the match which included six match points for the Crusaders in the deciding game.

Alvernia will continue the conference schedule hosting Immaculata University on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. again at Green Valley Country Club.
