Reading, Pa. (Sept. 29, 2007) – The depth of the Alvernia College women's tennis team was again on display Saturday as the Crusaders (4-3, 3-2 PAC) improved to a game over .500 with a 7-2 win over Eastern University Saturday afternoon in a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference match at Angelica Park.
Eastern managed a point in a tie-break at No. 1 doubles and handed the freshman team of
Jenny McKee (York, Pa./York Catholic) and
Hannah Dickey (Summit, N.J./Summit) its first loss of the season following six straight victories. McKee kept her winning streak going in singles play with her seventh straight win, a 6-3, 6-3 decision at No. 1.
Alvernia earned decisive victories at No. 3 through No. 6 singles winning each in straight sets.
The Crusaders will continue the conference schedule at Neumann College on Wednesday.
