Eastern Nabs Win In Return Visit

Eagles Win Two of Three Halted Matches For 5-4 Win

Reading, Pa. (Oct. 1, 2008) - Eastern University and Alvernia University (3-6, 1-2) were tied 3-3 through with three matches postponed by darkness on Tuesday evening.  The Eagles (4-4, 1-2) returned to Angelica Park on Wednesday to complete the Freedom Conference match winning 5-4 overall by taking two of the three unfinished matches.

Alvernia got just one point in doubles play on Tuesday before darkness fell from the No. 3 pairing of Laura Ehnes (Roselle Park, Pa./Roselle Park) and Brittany Veith (Conestoga, Pa./Penn Manor).  The Crusaders picked up two more points at No. 1 and 2 singles.  Sophomore Lil Snyder (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter Strasburg) finished up a straight set win at No. 3 singles on Wednesday, but Eastern got a straight set win at No. 5 and a three set win at No. 6 for the victory.

Alvernia will travel to Misericordia University on Thursday for a rescheduled match with the Cougars.
