Reading, Pa. (Oct. 8, 2008) - Alvernia University (5-8, 2-4) lost 8-1 to conference leader DeSales University (8-3, 5-1) Wednesday afternoon in Freedom Conference women's tennis action at the Governor Mifflin Courts.
Alvernia sophomore
Lil Snyder (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter Strasburg) earned the only point for the Crusaders on the day with a 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles. DeSales jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the doubles play winning 8-0, 8-2, and 8-6.
Freshman
Laura Ehnes (Roselle, Pa./Roselle Park) was able to extend her match to three sets, but fell 6-4 in the deciding set. Snyder's win improved her to 11-2 on the season at No. 3 singles. Sophomore No. 1
Jenny McKee (York, Pa./York Catholic) is 9-4 and No. 2
Lauren Ertel (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) is 10-3 in singles play.
Alvernia will continue the conference schedule hosting King's College on Saturday.
