Alvernia Falls to Cedar Crest 6-3

Crusaders Win First Three Singles Games

Reading, PA (Sept. 16, 2008) - The Crusader Women's Tennis team fell to Cedar Crest College 6-3 this afternoon in non-conference action at Angelica Park. Despite winning the first three singles games, Alvernia was unable to hold on for the win. With the loss the Crusaders fall to 1-4.

Sophomore Jenny McKee (York, PA/York Catholic) handled her opponent at #1 singles winning 6-0 and 6-1. Lauren Ertel (Wyomissing, PA/Wyomissing) and Lillian Snyder (Lancaster, PA/Lampeter-Strasburg) also won at #2 and #3 singles respectively. These would be the Crusader's only victories of the match as Cedar Crest (4-3) won #4, #5 and #6 singles as well as all of the doubles competition.

Alvernia will look for their secon win of the season when they travel to PSU-Harrisburg Sept. 18th at 3:30 pm.
